A mom came in to see me yesterday.  She has been bf x2mo. very successfully.
Day before yesterday she  noticed that her baby kept going off and on the
breast at a feeding and didn't seem to be satisfied post feeding.  She also
notice that when her breast leaked , the milk didn't look the same.  It
looked like cloudy water.

I observed her bf and noted that the baby did go off and on the breast.  Mom
seemed to have sufficient amt. of breastmilk.  I had her pump the other
breast x 15 min.  The breastmilk was white but looked like water
(foremilk).  She expressed approx. 2-3 oz.

Mom is bf every 3-4hr. x 20 to 30 min.  Has not been stressed , Is not on
any meds,Diet is the same, no apparent changes, etc.

I spoke with her this morning and she thought that the milk might be
somewhat thicker or streaks of thickness.  Mom just phoned me this afernoon
and states that now she doesn't feel that she had any breastmilk and now the
baby is refusing  to bf.  I have informed the mom to be sure and pump or bf
in order to increase her milk supply.

I do not have a clue as to what has caused this nor do I know what to do.

Please inform me of what this may be caused from and what to do about it?!!
