Greetings to all. I am back from a vacation, and feeling rested. I'd like
to thank everyone who has sent me cards ..my mailman now needs a
chiropractic adjustment after having his workload increased by your
kindness. I have thrown card showers many times, but never been on the
receiving end. A heartfelt thanks to all of you for your kind words.

I learned something this past week. While I was away on vacation, without
computer, a dear friend of mine passed on. She was 86, but she lived life
to the fullest, and she died doing what she loved best, travelling with
family.  Although I am sad to lose her (this has been tough for my kids
too), I have renewed belief that friends and family and work are all
intrinsically important. It is good to stop and smell the roses, as my Dad
used to say, and my friend Ruth was a good example of that.

So, as I continue to work to help Lactnet exist, I will stop and smell the
roses occasionally, and I will know that with every baby that I or you
help, we will have a LOT of rose petals floating around. Special thanks to
those who manage this list with me as volunteers. They do good work.
