Please, let's not automatically rail against something just because it is
often misused, re. baby buckets. I have a baby bucket and many, many slings
(at least 10, I'd say.) I use the sling most of the time, but there are
times when the bucket is a handy tool. I bring it to the pool so I don't
need to put the baby down on the wet floor, drenching all of my towels. I
bring it in when he's asleep and hasn't been sleeping much. or when I'll be
eating dinner and want two hands. I always bring a sling in too, and if
Benno needs to get out, I pop him in the sling, put my shopping in the baby
bucket and cope that way. But it is a tool, and if we assume that all
mothers who use them *misuse* them, then we may be misjudgeing the mom. (or
dad.)
I, too, despair when I see the overuse.
