I was out of town for Mother's day, so response is delayed....
But thanks to all who educated me on milk storage in the breast. I will have
to revise and update my tears analogy.... :)

As for breastfeeding after mastectomy; I just finished rereading Kay Hoover
and Barbara Wilson Clay's book.The Breastfeeding Atlas pictured is a mother
who breastfed uneventfully for 5 months post-mastectomy. From my own client
base, I have worked with a mother who nursed her child well into the third
year with one breast. Her left breast had been seriously injured when kicked
by a horse as a prepubescent adolescent. She had limited breast development
on the left side, and her nipple was nonfunctioning. She did have some
initial postpartum engorgement on that side. However, she had not undergone
any radiation or chemotherapy.
