It was a treat to get to read Fiona Gile's article; thanks to those who
posted the URL. Fiona stayed with me for several days last year while
researching her book, and had a great box full of lactation porno films in
tow. Seems like she has put them to good use. Her up-coming book ought to
be a great read. Her work is just fascinating, and I think she would make a
great conf. speaker as her take on things is so unique.

I heartily agree that bfg has been made to seem like a closeted, secret, and
out-of-the-real-world activity. Our milk bank benefit concert takes place
this weekend in Austin, and one of the rather un-looked for benefits of our
community fund raising has been the opportunity to get people laughing,
joking, and sharing stories about bfg. Today, for instance, we have someone
collecting donations at Mom's Tattoo Parlor ( a tie-in with Mother's Day
here in the US). If you stop by and contribute to the milk bank, you get a
free temporary tattoo. I think it's great that the bikers can have a good
laugh and get the chance to contribute.

And I'll say again that my favorite bfg. photo is a picture of Jerry Hall
(Mick Jagger's wife) sitting in a Chippendale chair wearing a leopard skin
coat over a little black dress. She has her hair done, legs crossed showing
stilleto heels and a sexy little ankle bracelet. She is nursing a naked,
cherubic baby who looks about 9 months old. Her whole breast is exposed,
and she is staring straight at the camera with an "I dare you to say a word"
expression. Annie Leibowitz is the photog, and it is titled: Mother
Courage. It appeared in Vanity Fair about a yr. ago.
