Good evening. I see that someone thinks that Lactnet is owned by a specific
pump company. Let me clear up this misconception.

Just for the record, for Janie and anyone else who is interested, no one
"owns" Lactnet except for me, as a list volunteer and originator. I own the
idea, that is....it was started by me and Kathleen Auerbach in 1995. I
maintain Lactnet now, with the help of several really talented volunteers
who help me....Kathleen Auerbach is not working with us anymore, having
moved on to other work....but she gave us several good years of volunteer work.

None of us get paid. No pump company owns Lactnet. That being
said...several years after I started working on  Lactnet, I began working
as an independent consultant for Medela. I answer their online
breastfeeding questions at www.medela.com as an independent contractor. I
also do some writing for them as well, on breastfeeding educational materials.

So, that is the state of the union folks. Lactnet is unaffiliated and not
owned by any pump company. As far as pump companies and Lactnet, there is
no relationship.
