I had a mom with severe OCD, and she managed quite well with the
breastfeeding, but her problem was with the baby's diapers.
she changed his diapers and clothing 20 times a day, and of course he was so
agitated by this that he would scream. she found that breastfeeding calmed
him down and then of course also made him fill his diaper again. Poor girl
had major laundry problems.
She continued to breastfeed him past one year.
When she started solids, the mess problems became worse.
What I do remember her telling me is that her situation greatly improved
after the birth, and more severe symptoms reappeared only at about 4 months.
