<The screening tool they used was called the "Edinburgh Postnatal Depression
Score." I was wondering if any of our Australian and British Lactnetters are
familiar with this and is it possible to get a copy. <

I recently went to a research seminar where someone presented her MS work
where she had re-evaluated the EPDS and looked at how it is used around the
world and done some qualitative work with women around receiving it and
filling it in. It is used world wide and a lot in the UK, her conclusion is
that women don't necessarily understand what the questions are getting at
(and this is before its translated), that it is used differently (at
different times after the birth and also antenatally) in different areas,
and that different 'cut-off scores' are used to determine 'depression'.
So-- for anyone wanting to use this or review the literature -- be warned!!
