I have understood that !Kung-children wean at the age of about 3,5 years
when the mother is pregnant with next child.
Now, the question is, how and when do the youngest !Kung -siblings wean?
If there is no pregnancy and possibly reduced milk to encourage with
weaning, does the mother encourage the youngest one to wean at about the
same age as other siblings, or does the youngest one self-wean when s/he
sees her/his friends weaning, or does the younger one wean later than the
older siblings, or... ?
By the way, does the mother encourage a child to wean when she is pregnant
with the next one, or do !Kung -children self-wean during that time? Do
!Kung -mothers tandem nurse ever / sometimes?
