Actually all of the activities you described--from conferences and meetings
to LACTNET and working with mothers in different settings--are the best
kinds of studying there are: ongoing, paced, and real life. Congratulations
on your recertification! And to everyone else who earned or re-earned their
right to put "IBCLC" behind their names!
