Regarding funding by the manufacturer of feeding tube devices for
study: If the study is to determine effectiveness of different
placement of the tube using the same product, then I don't think there
is as much of a problem as there would be if the study was between
different devices. In the latter case, there would be a definite
economic benefit to the possible conclusions. In the former case, the
results wouldn't impact the number of devices sold as much as the way in
which they are used.
