Lisa,
I use a database program to keep track of clients, pumps, etc. The
specific program I like is Lotus Approach. It comes with a tutorial
that walks you through creating your own database. I configured it in
one sitting. All you need to think about is what kind of information
you need to collect from each client...name, address, phone, infant
name, dob, weight history, medical concerns, birth hx, bf hx, etc; and
then assign a "field" for each of them, then arrange it all on your
computer screen the way you like. This becomes the data entry screen.
You can add reports, mailing labels, form letters, etc; which all sit
behind your data entry screen and are accessed by little tabs. I
configured seperate databases for my clients, pump, and referral
contacts (not to mention my Christmas card list). Best of all, the
program is relatively inexpensive and very stable. You can buy it alone
or in Smartsuite, the office suite by Lotus.
Standard disclaimer applies: I have no financial interest in this
product or company.
