Hi All!
We are currently revising and adding to our breastfeeding policies. Our team has identified a definite need for a policy that addresses the needs of the preterm infant in the "regular" nursery. I have been researching Lawrence, Auerbach, etc but have not really found any specific research-based guideline regarding management of these babies outside the NICU environment. Our Neos don't manage these babies, rather the peds do, and as such these babies are often treated as term with regards to feeds and follow-up. (SIGH)
I would very much appreciate your input if you have devised such a policy and would be willing to share it, or would simply like to share how your facility manages these babies and moms.
Please email me privately as I am currently no-mail.
Thank you for your help!
