DeDe,
Has she tried positional changes? From what you describe, upper, outer
quadrant the over the shoulder breastfeeding position-mom lies down, baby
comes onto breast with tongue over/near area of plug so compression of jaw
gets area of plugs, baby's feet are near mom's head, baby on his side
(Australian hold)-should help. Ditto to suggestion to at least daily removal
of skin over bleb with soaking and brisk rub of washcloth. Mom I worked with
with exact same location did above treatments with all 3 babies of hers and
found relief. Continued this for some weeks after plugs resolved and is now
easily nursing her soon-to-be one yr old.
