Yes, there are other alternatives!  I had radioactive
treatment when I was young and never conceived again!
Surgery for partial gland removal (if treatment is
REALLY needed) is more indicated in any woman of
childbearing age ... so, there is a whole lot more at
stake here than BF (not to minimize it).  If she can
wait for 2 months, she must not be horribly toxic and
yes, the I 131 would impact her baby's thyroid
function.  There are other methods and I think she
should consult a perinatologist or other specialist!
