Maybe part of the problem is that parents assume that if the baby isn't
eating, he/she should be sleeping.  Hence the baby ALWAYS in the back to
sleep position.

I think that as lactation consultants, we need to be doing a lot of educating
of parents -- sunshine to prevent rickets, tummy play, out of the bucket,
slinging, holding a lot, as well as bf info.  I find parents are stunningly
ignorant about basic baby "stuff" -- and I was probably the same way as a new
mom.  But there are so MANY more dos & don'ts out there now -- and self
proclaimed experts that actually don't know ANYTHING and serve up Ezzoish
Hoggwash -- that parents glom onto and believe, that we have a hard road
ahead.  But we need to tread it w/ our parents....
