I have also used the comparison of "not running out of tears" to not
running out of milk.  I think a slightly more accurate one would be
the comparison to sweat.  As I understand it, milk glands are
"modified sweat glands" embryonically.  I remind moms that on a hot
day they do not "use up" all the sweat and have to wait for the
glands to fill up again!  As long as the stimulus is there, the
sweat is produced.
