And this story here should have been released right along with the story
about increased heart attacks.
I have been wanting to post about this since hearing the story at 6:00 this
morning but haven't had time to get to Lactnet. Right now I am making
dinner but had to quickly post this.
We have got to find ways to get people to make the connections. If
doctors/coroners could just ask "When did you introduce solids to your
son/daughter? Did you breastfeed at all, how long, etc.?" Don't be
accusatory, just start gathering the statistics then maybe new mothers could
look at the actual information and think that "Hey, I would hate my baby to
have a heart attack while playing basketball or football when in high
school or college."
(We actually have lost 3 young boys to heart attacks just this year, not all
at the same school, but area schools. It is unbelievable.)
I'll be back later to read and perhaps write some more but I have to get
back to the kitchen now.
