I wonder why you would suggest this is an indication of a "behavioural issue"? From the time all of my children could stand, I changed them standing up. It really was habit after my oldest, who behaved as you describe. But, he could stand on his own from 5 1/2 mos, and just wanted to be upright. I just did it w/o thinking and was always surprised when anyone commented on it, since it seemed so quick and easy to me.
