On Thursday March 29th, The state of Illinois senate committee will hear a bill called The Nursing Mothers in the Workplace Act. This bill SB0542 will require employers to provide reasonable unpaid break time each day for a employee who needs to express breast milk for her infant child. It also requires an employer to make reasonable efforts to provide a room or other location, in close proximity to the work area, other than a tolet stall, shere the employee can express her milk in privacy.
This is the third time we have tried to get it out of committee for a vote. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers that the Senators are in the mood to pass a bill to help mothers in Illinois.
Thanks,
