Okay, Jennifer,
Here is our NICU pharmacist's solution to being unable to get 10%
clotrimazole ointment in the U.S. for making Newman's APNO:
Newman's All-Purpose Nipple Ointment 20 g.
Mupirocin (Bactroban) ointment 5 g.
Nystatin 100,000 units ointment 5 g.
Clotrimazole 1% vaginal cream 5 g.
Betamethasone 0.1% ointment 5 g
Clotrimazole 500 mg. vaginal tablet, crushed
Sig: Apply to nipples sparingly after each feeding. Do not wash or wipe
off. Use for 7 to 10 days. Call physician or lactation consultant if pain
persists.
No refills Physician signature
I haven't heard Jack screaming about this, yet, so am assuming it's okay.
Deanne
