The BBC prgoramme about was about the new report which was posted yesterday
on Lactnet. The report "Breaking the Rules, Stretching the Rules 2001" was
launched yesterday at the World Health Assembly by the International Baby
Food Action Network (IBFAN).

The report, the result of monitoring of baby food company marketing
practices in 14 countries, exposes widespread and systematic violations by
household names such as Nestle and Cow&Gate.

According to UNICEF, reversing the decline in breastfeeding could save the
lives of 1.5 million infants around the world every year. The World Health
Assembly is due to adopt a new Resolution on infant and young child feeding
during its current meeting.

See the press release included below or visit the IBFAN website at
http://www.ibfan.org/english/news/press/press15may01.html

The report is available in English and Spanish and can be downloaded as a
PDF file.

Best wishes,

Tessa Martyn
