>>The other "latest thing" is that some of the babies from this group go to
sign language class. There is a sign for BF<<

Ezzo has promoted this also-- it is discussed in his second book, Babywise
2: The toddler years. If I didnt' know how it was being used (at least by
Ezzo), it sounds like an interesting and possibly helpful concept. However,
if it is used to hold a baby accountable for "understanding" and "obeying"
ala Ezzo, then I'm against it.

After dealing with GFI for several years, I have a bad taste in my mouth for
any new parenting thing. One fad after another, everyone flocks to it. What
has happened to the maternal instinct that mothers need these kinds of
classes? Even if they didn't have the best upbringing, do they actually need
"methods" to be successful? Perhaps The Whisperer will replace Ezzo as the
latest parenting fad, and that is a step up. However, we are still back at
scheduling and all the pitfalls therein.

It is a sad commentary on our society that parents must look outside of
themselves in these ways-- so disempowering. Reading the LC series on
Acquiring the Parental Role gives great insight into the problem.
