In response to finding breastfeeding specific CEU's, there are many programs
available that I found when looking to accumulate hours for IBCLE myself.
[log in to unmask] (contact person for ILCA) can send you a directory of
lactation management courses and programs. Of all programs on their list,
both Breastfeeding Support Consultants Center for Lactation Education
(www.bsccenter.org) and Lactation Education Resources (www.LERon-line.com)
mention distance learning/home study courses. Other programs on directory
offer jjust onsite courses. The Healthy Children Project/The Center for
Breastfeeding offers courses through the year in many cities in USA. I'll be
attending their 42 hour workshop in Tampa, FL in a few weeks :). Their
website is www.healthychildren.cc and contact person is at [log in to unmask]
BreastEd (www.breasted.com.au) is an online course in breastfeeding
education. For just 3 CEU's check out www.vsigns.com and their continuing
education courses #127, 131, and 132. And one more self study module for 1
CEU on COntraception Counseling for Breastfeeding Patients is at
http://nsweb.nursingspectrum.com/ce/ce93.htm. And of course join the
yahoo.com group named IBCLC2B.
Good luck!
