Nikki's post contained a regrettable typo:
"Did not Helen Millar write a fabulous Ode?
    Send that woman a beer!!"
It should have read: send that woman a b-o-o-b!

And Jo-Anne issues a challenge I cannot resist: "Anyone have c)? d)?"
This could be c) and d) depending on which way baby is oriented. Here goes:
'LOOK MA, NO HANDS!' -- sitting at kitchen table on a 'Balans' rocker
(Norwegian design, simply two rockers emanating from a backless seat and
culminating in padded knee-rests), small baby balanced across thighs,
leaning slightly forward to reach table, knife in right hand, fork in left,
nurse on whichever side you like. Warning: this position is only for the
experienced mother. Not because it requires such coordination and skill,
but because the breasts of a nubile new mum will not have the required
length and elasticity.

And from Jan's post we glean that the Baby Whisperer seems to have taken the
same lactation management course as Gary Ezzo, whose Norwegian translation
of Baby Wise states that the breast tenderness experienced by most mothers
in the first days after giving birth is due to the thickness of colostrum,
necessitating strong suction by the baby to extract it from the breasts.
See? We all have something to learn every day!

As for Nikki's query, I don't think my cyberspace navigator even wants to GO
there.
