I have searched the archives but couldn't discern a complete answer to this
question . The mom's 8 year old came down with a nasty case of Chicken Pox
tonight (her first communion was supposed to be tomorrow!) She is
exclusively nursing a 6 month old. Does breastfeeding generally offer the
baby protection against the disease or against all but a mild case? I did
learn from the archives that if the baby is protected by mom's immunities
then she may still be susceptible later in her life as her own immune system
didn't kick in to fight the disease. Correct?
