Dear Friends:
    I apologize for my unfinished post.
    The point is that second generation mythology accepts "typical" as
normal. Episiotomies, inductions, bottle-feeding are first generation myths.
Expecting babies to be sick, while increasingly typical, is the result of
artificial feeding. This is a second generation myth.
    In another realm, babies are expected to cry in the US. It is typical.
This is a second generation myth, the extension of the first generation myth
that babies should be taught to be independent by separating from their
mothers. In other cultures, where babies are with their mothers, one doesn't
hear them crying.
    Typical is a dangerous word, that puts a spin of acceptable on pathology.
