Libby: As an APHA (American Public Health Association) section councillor
(Medical Care) I remember the policy statement coming up for a vote in the
Nov 1999 annual meeting. I actually had to present the arguments to our
section council for their approval and then go to the Policy briefing
meeting to present our section's recommendation. I believe it was approved
and fully endorsed last Nov and you should be able to go to the APHA web
site. Now, if you are really talking about the AAP, that's a whole other
ball of wax. (The AAP policy statement can be found at their website too).
If you or anyone else has any questions about how APHA adopts policy, I
would be happy to field questions. As for the WHO, I believe you can find
the statements on the WABA site or INFACT.
Warmly,
Chris
