Marsha,
This whole idea just sticks in my craw! So, we are to assume that the mother
is hurting her baby by bf and will save the baby with AIM! This child is
almost one year and eating other foods. Why would one give AIM instead of
other foods high in fat, if that is the issue? How about avacado? How about
supplementing with some essential fatty acids(EFA's) to both mom and baby? Am
I missing something or is the doctor really saying that we want more fat on
this baby's body at the expense of neurological development, immune system
health, etc?
BTW, both zinc and vit A deficiency are associated with malnutrition. If
the baby really is not being well-nourished, perhaps zinc is a good idea. I
also tend to see FTT (not saying this baby is) with food allergies. Has this
been addressed?'
