I shook violenly after my first two section (as mentioned earlier) they
were unplanned and followed long labors, long second stage pushing and also
epidurals. My third section was planned, I went into latent stage labor
after an amnio was performed to check for surfactant, then had the section
about 8 hours later with a spinal. I did not experience much shaking this
time.

I feel there is quite a bit of interplay between hormones, drugs, cold ORs,
and even fear! I have also worked with quite a few home birth moms who
experienced shaking w/o any of the above except hormones.

I would imagine the rate of shaking in high tec intervention laden
deliveries would be higher, however.

Initiating breastfeeding was much easier for both the baby and myself in
the planned, nonlaboring, spinal assisted section. I also perceived that
our baby was MUCH less stressed than the babies I had after my terribly
difficult labor attempted deliveries.

FTR, I feel my experience is rather rare as most babies are much less
stressed with vaginal deliveries.
