I read a Sci Fi book many years ago. The female protagonist maintained her
milk supply by offering to breastfeed various needy individuals in her
travels. When no needy individual was about she made cheese. There were
some yucky parts in the book too, infanticide and cannibalizes.

Then there was another Sci Fi book with multiple highly evolved and
intelligent life forms forced by circumstances to live together. Their
individual species' evolution caused various behaviors. For instance, one
character whose ancestors were a bird like species (who regurgitated food
into the young's mouth) found it soothing to spit up into a beak shaped
receptacle.

My memory is awful. I wish I could remember the titles. Anyone else ever
read these books and know the titles?

Carla
