Actually, children are exactly the same priority for the mom you mention as
we (meaning Western societies) normally hold them to be. Not much of one at
all. Otherwise, she and so many more like her, truly the majority of American
moms, would not feel so pressured, supported, manipulated, guilted, conned,
duped, anesthetized, or whatever you want to call it, into choosing the very
same priorities.
