Hello Lactnetters,
In my original post about breastfeeding & child custody I was too upset to introduce myself. I am
mother to two tandem nursing toddlers. In my most recent past life I worked in medical oncology and adult
health as an rn. I would like to either become a CNM or a FNP when my children are older. At present time I
am active in LLL and remain very interested in women's health issues, esp. pregnancy & breastfeeding. Having
lost my lactnet virginity yesterday, I find myself compelled to return for more. If anyone can answer this
question for me, I promise to go back to lurking for at least a month! I need to know if anyone is doing bone
density studies on mothers who are/have been extended nursing for more than two years. Also, are there any
recommended dietary guidelines for mothers of older nursing toddlers/twins. Specifically, how much calcium
and D and A vitamins should the mother be taking in?
