Sometimes, when I am feeling acerbic, I take the opposite approach -- I talk
about feeding newborns ruminant milk and vegetables. The moms I am
talking with, generally well educated folks who have read, say, What to
Expect or something like it cover to cover, look at me askance. "What are
you talking about? I'm going to feed her formula!" "Oh, I guess that's
right, it is * modified* ruminant milk, or doctored soy milk, isn't it?"
Sometimes this is the first time these moms have focused on the fact that
their baby is not a ruminant or a plant :)
Elisheva, trying to get folks to think twice (or in some cases, for the first
time :> )
