Wyeth is associated with Virgina Tech which is associated with PPL in
Scotland--yes transgenic herds. The thrust of the US government and the
pharmaceutical/biotech industries is to genetically engineer formula. I
posted awhile ago a document from the US government, the NICHD (National
Institute of Child Health and Human Development) dated in 1994 about funding
for an in vivo study on genetically engineered human lactoferrin ($600,000
study) in infant formula. One way to genetically engineer human lactoferrin
is through transgenic herds. This government document spells out that the
funding is part of the Healthy People 2000 project. Now, to me this whole
thing with Sears is just the tip of the iceberg. He is most assuredly being
used in order to promote this new kind of formula here in the States. Sorry
you guys in Europe and Asia you already have genetically engineered human
lactoferrin in your infant formula. But we Americans have to get with the
Program. Sears is also associated with the DHA supplements that Martek sells
and Martek is pushing for GRAS status of DHA for infant formula. Martek and
Wyeth are collaborating partners in business. Valerie W. McClain, IBCLC
