"Detailing" is what calling on doctors, pharmacists, durable medical
equipment supplieres and other related medical sales calls is called.

Since I began my breast prosthesis fitting business in 1978, the
mastectomy supply reps have evolved from males to females (thankfully,
as I could never stomach a man telling me how a breast prosthesis should
or does fit as he wasn't doing any hands on in the fitting room.)

The woman reps dislike this word "detailing" immensely, though other
sales branches of their company still use the term.  It does not give a
positive image in all geographical locations.
