Hi all,
Several years ago when Dr. Felicity Savage was on the board of ILCA as the
International Delegate, ILCA looked into seeing how we could change the
accepted (and in the dictionary) breast-feed to breastfeed. What we were
told by Oxford (as in the dictionary) is that as soon as breastfeed was
accepted practice, it would be changed in the dictionary. We don't want to
separate the words, as we don't want to separate the event - it is all
inclusive, and the implication is there is more to just feeding with
breastfeeding; it puts the importance of the breast with feeding, where it
belongs. Maybe Kathy A. who was on the board at that time could help...
