Yaffa, I can feel your grief over the attitude of the nurse at your new job.
I am a nurse, by the way. My feeling is that she probably would have the
same attitude, even if a nurse hired into the position. (IS this the first
L.C. position at the hospital?) If yes, then I'm almost sure of it. My
very first consultation, after I inherited the practice from Susan Maher,
was in a hospital. I couldn't believe the hostility of one of the nurses
there. It colored my attitude toward doing consultations in hospitals.
Don't you think it is really jealousy toward you? Over time, she will
probably come to see and admire your skills, especially if it lightens her
load. Hand in there. First days on a new job can be awful. You'll
probably get tons of responses to your postin.
