I would say they have done more to get the term Attachment Parenting out
there than anybody, yes. They do not give adequate credit to John Bowlby
and other pioneers in the field of studies of attachment, and I find
that regrettable. And what they call AP is not a lot different from the
kind of mothering through breastfeeding that women have learned about
from LLL for many years. Even early editions of The Womanly Art of
Breastfeeding have lots of information about how important attachment,
minimal separation, responding, carrying, co-sleeping as well as
breastfeeding are for babies.
