Reading Diane's and Susan's posts reminded me of my teenage son telling
me, "You'll like my sociology teacher, mom, she doesn't know what she
wants to be when she grows up, either!"
My goal is to live many lives and do many kinds of work at the same
time. Two things changed when I reached my forties: 1) I saw things as
simultaneous and interrelated rather than consecutive, causal and
chronological and 2) I realized that I didn't feel threatened by people
who knew more than I did and enjoyed their company more and more.
This still doesn't help me find the money to take all the courses I want
to, though, because we've traded in the disposable income for freer time
Jo-Anne, who always has something to say about everything, and should
learn to be quiet!
