Have a mom who is taking Seroquel. Hale indicates there are others
that would be a better choice, but her MD is reluctant to make a
change since it took a long time to get her stable with this med.
Her twins were delivered at <30 weeks and will be NPO for a while.
Hale indicates that this med is L2, but L4 in neonates (as he does
for several drugs). Is the difference the difference in spaces
between the cells as shown in his introduction? At what age would
the risk category move from L2 to L4? Is it different with
premies? This mom is very keen to breastfeed and has stated she is
willing to pump and dump for weeks if necessary until it is felt her
babies could handle what med might be in her milk. Any thoughts
would be appreciated.
