At our state IBCLC group meeting last night we received the following info:
the AAP, spear-headed by Larry Gartner, has decided to recommend routine
supplementation of vit D to all bf babies. This was announced at a conference
she attended in FLA at which he was one of the speakers.
So, now we need breastpumps, lanolin, gel packs and vit D to breastfeed!
Am I missing anything? Oh, and BTW, breastmilk is no longer the perfect food.
It's deficient in vit D, unlike AIM!
Oy vey! Arghh! What Jack says.
