The rate of epidurals and "high-tech" births is going to stay high (well
over 80% in many Israeli hospitals) as long as women stay ignorant of
the risks.  50% of the childbirth education classes offered at the
health fund where I teach have been cancelled due to lack of interest.
Many women who come to me with bf problem after giving birth said they
didn't want to "waste their time" in childbirth classes because "they
are going to just get an epidural anyway..."
And breastfeeding education?  Well, they just assume you put the baby on
the breast and it will all work out fine.
They are often in for a rude shock when the anticipated "painless" birth
turns out to be a long traumatic affair due to all the interventions.
