You know, I think some of them make it because they have heard over and
over how chemical and "horrible" it is, and figure that good ole'
goat's/cow's milk watered down with some sugar and vitamines would be
much better than all the chemicals they put in the formula from
factories. At least this is the impression I get talking to some moms
who have used/do use these homemade "formulae". I must admit that I can
sort of see the rationale that these people have: we go on and on about
how formula is 4th best, how it's dangerous because it can cause
allergies (not that the homemade formulae won't...), and so on, about
how bf is "normal" and formula subnormal...and people, who are starting
to get the idea that "the less something is changed/altered, the
healthier it is" (think about trans fats/hydrogenated oil compared to
natural-state oils...), I can sort of see how someone who is thinking
along these lines could get mixed up, especially if biology (human etc.)
is not their forté. ;-)
