I am engaged in writing an article for Salon.com on Dr. WIlliam Sears' possible ties to infant formula interests. The story will be out later this week and I'll direct all interested LACNETters to it at that time.
In the meantime, however, I do want to clear up some serious misinformation that is being passed around LACTNET. Dr. William Sears IS NOT on the board of directors for Wyeth. Clearly, something he said at the LATCH conference led people to believe this (because a number of people have contacted me to tell me that he said this during his speeches this week). However, I talked with Dr. Sears today and specifically asked him whether this was the case. It is not.
I repeat: Dr. William Sears IS NOT on the board of directors of Wyeth Nutritionals.
I think the story I am writing will be very interesting, but this isn't one of the things you will read in it :-)
