and Pierce and others you have mentioned but not as much as I love my
husband's stories of his culture, because of the delicious personal
tales of tapping on his grandmother's big stomach while she told stories
(he is a drumkeeper here now) and being moved from his mother's hammock
to his father's when his brother was born... He thinks people breastfed
a long time there, but he was separated from his mother quite young so
has no memory of "sustained" nursing (I like this term, suggested to me
by Leslie Ayre-Jaschke) personally.:-( Oh well, I'll have to make sure
he remembers our children this way instead!
