I agree wholeheartedly with Debbie's observation about the
positioning and latch in the posters. One (I don't have the number
handy) shows a baby with its arm between baby and breast and looking
over the shoulder to get to the breast! Agreed, it is an older baby
and with many, once they get to know how the breast is supposed to
feel in their mouth, almost any approach can be successful as baby
can "manipulate" the nipple/areola into the "correct" position.
However, a new or expectant mom looking at it is more likely to go
away with the image and assume it it OK. It's a dilemma because the
sayings on the posters are great, but we are reluctant to use them
because of the poor visual image.
