Hi Janna, Sorry I missed your first post but picked up on it with one of the
responses...
You say that Mom weaned down to 1feed/day x 1 month then quit, correct? If
so then this is probably too fast for a Mom with such an exceptional supply.
What I would suggest is that she make smaller steps ie. maybe nurse every
other day or every third for a week or so and continue with as small of
steps as necessary for comfort. We tend to base all on these 24 hr clocks but
our bodies don't! As a personal aside, my 2 last nursings for my last child
were 1 wk apart! Interestingly he was 1.5 yrs at the time and completely
forgot how to nurse in the interim! He looked at me when I offered it to him
as if he had no idea why I would be putting my breast in his mouth! I waited
until he was half asleep and tried again and he latched without problem.
