From an off list IBCLC friend comes this question:
A mother who is 11 weeks pregnant and BF her one year old asks whether the
occasional gagging she observes in her son could be due to pregnancy
hormones in her milk. She is very nauseated and vomits several times daily.
She has also noticed a decrease in her son's appetite and wonders if this
could be related.

Anyone have any wisdom to contribute? We have already thought of normal 12
month old eating idiosyncrasies for the appetite, and the possibility of
imitating mother's behavior by gagging. Also for the possibility that her
milk is decreasing and may be tasting salty.

My opinion is that it could be hormones, I guess, but so what? If she and
son are still interested in BF, I don't see why they shouldn't. And if she
is not enjoying the BF, which she doesn't say, then she can stop if she
likes, regardless of all of this. But we are looking for someone who has
run across this before. Are you out there?

cheers
Rachel Myr in Kristiansand, with frozen fingers from spending the better
part of an hour in front of an open window to photograph the spectacular
complete lunar eclipse. Imagine, we have had three or four clear days since
September and one of them is tonight!
