Do you have any former patients who could come in during the class and talk
about how devastated they were when their babies became nipple confused and
did not want to go back to the breast? Anecdotal stories might work, too.
Everytime I teach a breastfeeding class for expectant moms it seems I have
at least one participant who is having a second baby and want to prevent the
baby from becoming nipple confused. There is often a great deal of grief at
the loss for the first child who lost out on breastfeeding because of nurses
and doctors ordering a supplemental bottle of formula.
